About the event
Join us for a practical, discussion-based event where we dive into real client scenarios and explore how to apply nutrition knowledge in real life.
In this session, Registered Associate Nutritionist Dorothea Pafitou will be sharing her experience of supporting her first family through her programme "Fuss Free Feeding: Family Focused Feeding for Your Toddler". She'll share how she supported an overwhelmed mother to move from cooking multiple “children’s meals” to feeding the whole family with one balanced, stress‑free approach - and importantly, she’ll open up about how outcomes aren’t always linear or smooth‑sailing, and why that’s completely okay in real‑life practice.
What to expect
A full client case presentation, including background, eating habits and barriers to change
Group discussion where you’ll be encouraged to share ideas, ask questions and reflect on your own approach
Expert insights into strategies used, including nutrition recommendations and behaviour change
About Dorothea
My name is Dorothea and I am a Registered Associate Nutritionist (AfN) and mum of two. Through my practice, Nutrition by Dorothea, I support parents of toddlers who are experiencing challenges with eating, such as food refusal, limited food variety, and stressful mealtimes.
My work focuses on helping families move away from pressure-based feeding approaches and instead create calm, positive family meals. I combine evidence-based nutrition with practical, family-focused strategies that recognise the realities of feeding young children.
I developed the Fuss-Free Feeding: Family-Focused Feeding for Your Toddler programme to support parents of toddlers aged 1–5 years experiencing everyday picky or fussy eating. The programme focuses on building structured mealtime routines, reducing pressure at the table, increasing exposure to new foods, and helping parents confidently serve one meal for the whole family.
The case study I will present demonstrates how this approach supported my first client to reduce mealtime stress and gradually expand their toddler’s food variety.
